Cora Carlisle finds herself at crossroads. She volunteers to accompany a young 15 yr. old girl to New York to train in a national dance company while she pursues gathering information about her real mother in the hopes of learning about her family.
While in New York, Cora experiences something like a mid-life crisis. She begins to question her happiness, her rigid belief system, her marriage, and the conventional roles women hold in society. Her life will never be the same once she returns to her home in Kansas.
I enjoyed this book, although I could not relate to the characters, nor the time frame. This was a book chosen for a church book club I belong to. I probably would not have chosen this book myself, but I am glad I read it. We did have great discussion about the book and the other book club members really enjoyed it.
