Sip and See Party

I posted this picture last week on Instagram- he really is Captain Adorable.  Read below how we threw a party in honor of this little guy.
Have you heard of a Sip and See Party?  I hadn’t until Lauren suggested I throw her one:)  It was so easy and so much fun!  Many of Lauren’s friends had not met little Ryan, so she suggested a no-thrills party so she could introduce him.  Olivia was responsible for sending out the invites and I was responsible for hosting.  I kept the menu very simple as the party was only from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Our guest list was capped at 35, with a RSVP phone number, email and date.  We had  20 women show up.  A perfect number for a Sunday afternoon house party.  Attire was casual.

Food was put together Sunday morning with Olivia’s help. The menu consisted of  a wonderful Garden Pesto Pasta Salad recipe I found, Turkey Cranberry Tortilla Rolls from Costco ( I found a copycat recipe on the web that looks easy enough, but I was short on time so I just picked up a tray at my local Costco) and Fruit Kabobs stuck in a pineapple top.  Dessert was a super easy Lemon Blueberry Bundt Cake with a tray of cookies also from Costco.  For drinks, Olivia made Mimosa’s.  Plastic utensils and paper plates with a colorful napkin on a blue table cloth runner and we had ourselves a party!

The party was outside and in.

Everyone wanted to hold little Ryan!  Rules were basic- clean hands only with no sicknesses (one of my friends stayed home because someone in her family was not feeling well and she was worried she could pass it to the baby). Ryan opened his eyes for a little while but he mostly slept.  Lauren was able to mingle with everyone and had herself a wonderful time.  Guests brought gifts (which was not necessary) -Lauren was tickled by everyone’s generosity.

Lauren was thrilled with the Sip and See!
