Writing this post from the somewhat sunny shores of the Atlantic Ocean on Jekyll Island. I took some time off work to get out of the Michigan winters. It’s so relaxing here and I can’t wait to get some serious reading done!

Instead of bringing a ton of books with me, I will rely on reading with my Samsung Galaxy 10.4″ Tablet S6 Lite which I picked up at Costco before the trip. By using the Library app called Libby or Overdrive, I am able to read pretty much anything once I check it out.
I enjoyed Seven Days in June by Tia Williams and The Maid by Nita Prose. I devoured How to Find Love in a Bookshop by Veronica Henry. I ended up buying Feels like Home – a beautiful interior design book by the wonderfully talented Lauren Liess. I found it wondering around a little shop on St. Simons Island.
Lauren gives great advise on mixing pieces you might already have with new pieces you might want to bring into your design. She uses a mix of old and new and shows you how beautiful rooms can look. Very inspiring!
Another book I really enjoyed was Air Fry Every Day by Ben Mims. Knowing the hotel room had a small kitchenette and did not have an oven, I felt an air fryer could be useful. I picked one up at Costco before we left. The book Air Fryer Everyday by was an essential tool for the months away. I arranged with the library to keep the book for an extended time and returned it when I got home. Libraries are usually willing to help patrons when they plan ahead and communicate their needs.
