Hi Everyone! Whew…another jam packed weekend! On Thursday night, our date night this week, we had dinner at Black Finn and enjoyed a Perrin Lil’ Griz- an imperial brown craft beer. We also purchased tickets to listen to Joe Klein from Time Magazine.
Mr. Klein is one of Americas best political journalists and we were anxious to hear his take on the current election :} He spoke for an hour sharing his thoughts and views of what a Trump Presidency will look like. He talked about foreign and domestic issues that effect all of us. Dave was intrigued, I was amused. Overall, it was entertaining.
We traveled to Holland on Friday and stayed at one of our favorite hotels in MI. The Marriott has one of the best locations-located right in downtown Holland, walking distance to all the shops and restaurants.
We arrived in early afternoon and after check-in started to locate where our first beer stop would be. We needed to plan our shopping strategy over a good craft beer! With settled on the New Holland Brewery Company and ordered a Dragon’s Milk. The Holland shops were offering 20% off merchandise from 7:00-8:00, 25% from 8:00-9:00, and 30% off all merchandise from 9:00-10:00 pm! With so many special boutiques and unique shoppes, we needed to scout out all of our options and plan which stores to go to first during the 9:00 hour.
We first went to each shop, decided what to buy, hid some of the things in drawers or boots :), we really did, and then went back later to purchase them. Luckily, no one was the wiser and we walked about somewhat giddy at what we did! We were able to score some really cute Christmas gifts for ourselves and others. We needed to celebrate with another beer so we headed back to the New Holland Brewery and enjoyed a Bourbon barrel Dragon’s Milk. There was a local band playing so we listened for awhile before heading back to the hotel.
I wanted to buy everything in this shop! It’s called Canterbury Cottage and Kids on Main- it’s a must see if you are ever in Holland.
The wedding venue is an old warehouse with concrete floors and beautiful chandeliers!
Church is over a 150 years old, just beautiful.
On Sunday we saw our good biking friend, Mike, in the play Twelve Angry Jurors. He played his part superbly! All the actors were talented and believable. It was a well received play that kept our interest throughout.
Sunday night found us on our couch watching 60 Minutes. An interesting interview with Donald Trump, President-elect. We are curious to see if Melania will even live in the White House- it’s a slum compared to the Golden Trump Towers :)The Trump’s seem like American Royalty. Should be an interesting four years.
We hope you had a wonderful weekend also!
