Fall weather has certainly made an appearance in Michigan! We have waited for fall colors to show up and now they finally have- just in time for the little Trick-or-Treaters! Tomorrow, on Halloween, we plan to move the fire pit to the end of the driveway and sit in chairs, warming ourselves, as we pass out candy and probably beer to some of our neighbors. It’s a good time to catch up with friends. Fall is such a pretty time of the year. 🙂
Lauren sent me these pictures of KJ last night carving his pumpkin with his cousins. I love the smile on his face.
We ended up at one of our favorite wine and beer stores in Rochester this weekend. Jack, the owner of Zetouna Liquor, is so smart and knows so much about craft beer. If Dave just mentions a new beer he has tried Jack will find it and order it. He even calls and tells us when the beer will arrive. Such customer service! Jack wanted us to try these two liqueurs for the holiday season, thinking we might enjoy them. They were both good and we did purchase the second one- Ezra Brooks Bourbon Cream. The bottle is only available in the fall and winter season and tastes like a buttery, caramel and toffee, with a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg- it’s amazing and I can’t wait for friends and family to try it. We plan to have a few parties and I can see this served over ice in a cute holiday glass. It’s so good- we have to be sure not to open it before the parties because there will be none left! One 750 ml bottle costs $12.00 and it is 25 proof.
Looks like we will beginning a new project soon. We are getting new appliances in the laundry room and cupboards added to one of the walls. New sink and faucet also. I will have updates as we get things ordered as well as a full review on the washing machine and dryer we end up with.
Dave got me these beauties over the week. The colors are spectacular!
How was your weekend? Are you ready for the little goblins tomorrow? Do you do anything special when passing out candy? Do you dress up like the kids?
