Visiting the Inn at Bay Harbor Petoskey, Michigan.
A few days in Petoskey, Michigan
As part of our “UP” trip we wanted to include a few days in Petoskey. Petoskey is like a home to us. We are so comfortable there and we just love the low key life style. We always stay at the Bay Harbor Inn which is located right on Little Traverse Bay.
We spent the four days here going for relaxing runs, long bike rides, and reading on the beach. The hotel is pricey but so worth it!
The first day we rode our bikes to the Petoskey State Park and enjoyed the beach and water. A stop for a Horny Monk Belgian Amber Ale, at the Petoskey Brewery, and a bite at the Side Door Saloon (for some fabulous White Fish) was in order before we rode back to the Inn. The next day we rode our bikes to Charlevoix (25 miles) and spent a few hours at the Charlevoix Brewery. We met a very nice couple sitting at the bar, Glen and Tanna, we hope to meet up with them when we travel back to Grand Rapids. We always manage to meet wonderful people at bars 🙂 I guess it’s the craft beer! As we were leaving the bar we ran into some bikers and of course a conversation ensued about biking trails in Northern Michigan. They were staying in Petoskey as well, so we made dinner plans with them. Their home is in Shipshawana, they are farmers by trade and it was so interesting listening to their life story. Bob and Luann, even invited us back to the Bed and Breakfast they were staying to have coffee on the veranda. Such nice people! On one of our days in Petoskey we actually spent relaxing and enjoying the grandeur of the Inn and its grounds. Take it from us, if you ever find yourself in Petoskey, the Bay Harbor Inn is definitely worth exploring.
