Monday Mash-Up

Hello friends!

Hope your weekend was spooktacular!  We started off on Friday having dinner with friends in downtown Lake Orion.  Sagebrush Cantina has wonderful food and a great vibe. Had fun there, but the wait for a table was too long.  We were starving by the time we were seated and then proceeded to eat too many chips and salsa. 🙁  Food intake was going so well until Friday night.  Anyway, Dave and I split a meal so we at least saved calories there. Ended the night at a bar next to the restaurant where they had a duo singing today’s hits. Had to have a beer, Rochester Mills Brewery- Red, out of Rochester, while we listened, tapped our feet and held hands.  We have so much fun together!

Saturday found us at my nephews state finals for cross country.  He didn’t place but he did very well.

The rest of the weekend found us having a bonfire in the back yard while we cooked up some turkey burgers. Dave offered up a new beer called Plow Horse, a Belgian inspired Imperial Stout, brewed by Brewery Vivant- out of Grand Rapids, so very good.

Sunday was raining here in Michigan so no running or biking outdoors.  We decided to go to the movies and see Girl on the Train and Sully...a double feature day for us.  We took a healthy snack of almonds and mixed nuts so we wouldn’t be tempted to eat the popcorn.  I love seeing double features especially when its raining out and there is really nothing else to do.  We both read “Girl on the Train” and kept comparing the book to the movie.  We loved both and the movie was so entertaining.  Emily Blunt is a terrific actress. Intense throughout! Sully was very good as well, and might get a nod for Tom Hanks from the Academy.

Hope you had a great weekend, tonight we will be passing out candy to the little ones! Always a good time.
