Hi all! What a wonderful Monday it is. The weather this week in Michigan is predicted to be warmer than usual, and it feels great. It’s great weather for running and biking- we plan to do both this week. Let’s talk about this weekend. On Friday Dave had off again so we woke early and decided to plug my electric car in and run home from there. We ran on a beautiful trail and loved every moment of it. A 3.5 mile run done early which left us plenty of time to trim bushes and rake leaves. Working side by side is a great way to start a weekend! We really do enjoy our time off together 🙂
On Saturday we rode bikes for a few hours discovering a new trail by our house. We ended up logging in another 22 miles, pretty soon we will meet our goal of 2000 bike miles this year!
In the afternoon we ended up at Lauren and Christopher’s house to celebrate Lauren’s birthday! Zach and Olivia joined us from Saginaw. Lauren made a wonderful dinner of Lasagna, garlic bread, salad, a carrot cake with vanilla ice cream. I love family time! After dinner we enjoyed a bonfire and played with KJ!
We had tickets for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra for the Great American Songbook concert. Special guest singer was Ashley Brown-she was absolutely lovely. Her stories were entertaining and her singing was amazing. I already ordered her CD from Amazon. A DSO concert is always a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
Everywhere you go in Detroit you will see signs of hope, like this one from a shop in front of Orchestra Hall. Detroit really is making a come back. Hope you were able to enjoy this wonderful weather we are experiencing. We voted early so no lines for us tomorrow! How was your weekend? Anything you want to share??
