Hope your New Year is starting off great! We have been busy tiding after the holidays, I cannot believe how quickly times passes. It seems that we were just setting up the Christmas tree and now we are tearing it all down.
We spent New Year’s Eve with close friends. We traditionally go to a bar on our own and have a quiet celebration as we write down our goals for the new year and look over our goals from the previous year. This year was different. Instead, we wrote our goals over coffee this morning and brought in the New Year with friends at a local restaurant.
Happy 2018!
Sorry the photos are so dark- they were taken from my phone and I didn’t have the flash on.
Goals for 2018:
Many house goals this year:
1. Wood flooring in living room, foyer and study
2. Purchase a washer and dryer and have cabinets installed for storage
3. Replace carpet in Master bedroom and paint walls
4. Possibly replace stair rails and bannister
Personal goals for both of us include making healthy food choices, protein at each meal, run 600 miles this calendar year, enter into many bike and running races, bike 1000 miles this year and bike somewhere in Europe- with a new baby coming that one might be difficult.
Blog goals include continuing to post 2-3 times per week. When we originally started this blog two years ago we imagined a place where we could store our history and photos. And we have done that, but the blog has become so much more. It gives me a reason to write and tell stories. So we will continue with our first thought of recording our memories and travels but will also delve into areas such as healthy eating, travel tips, good beer suggestions and our exercise routines. On a personal level, I also want to focus on my you-tube channel- Booktalks with Karen the Librarian. This will take some time to do but since I am only working 20 hours a week I should be able to manage it. The goal would be to utilize my expertise as a Librarian and Teacher and create content that Teachers could use in their classrooms. More on that later.
So that is it. How was your New Year brought in? Did you celebrate with friends or family? Do you make goals and try to stick to them? We are both type-A personality types and we need a game plan or a blueprint to follow. Goals have been a huge part of our lives, I can’t even imagine a life without a goal to strive toward.
Karen
We both ran 9 miles this week in the snow 🙂
