Goals for 2019

OK, so here we go advertising our goals for the new year.  Why, you might ask?  Because by posting our goals it’s makes us accountable.  It’s makes us write down what we want to do or achieve and it makes us stick to it.  It also serves as a reminder of what we set out to do.  A reminder that we have purpose and are not just going through life without direction.

We always divide goals into sections…

Travel Goals– where we expect to visit this year, some are set in stone, some are in major need of planning.  Obviously, all destinations will include biking, running, and finding good craft beer 🙂


Athletic Goals– barring any major injuries…
  • Karen- loose 10 lbs and continue with weight training for strength
  • Dave- continue lifting weights and eating healthy while avoiding white sugar
  • Bike >2000 miles
  • Run >500 miles
  • Run the Detroit Free Press 1/2 Marathon
  • Ride the Zoo-De-Mack  race
  • Ride the weekend Michigander 
  • Ride the Green Cruise through Detroit
  • Ride the Tour De Troit
  • Ride Beaver Island 
Personal Goals-
  • Have family and friends over monthly for game nights 
  • Continue blogging to document travels and record memories
  • Volunteer at Church often
  • Be good people
  • Spend less money on shopping and save more money for creating memories
  • Spend lots of time with grandchildren- could they get any cuter? 🙂
That’s it- we are now committed to these goals 🙂  Are you this crazy with goal setting?  I can only speak for myself, but my whole life I have set goals and checked them off when completed.  It just makes sense to me.  I like having a game plan.  What’s your game plan look like for 2019?
