What I loved about this fast- paced novel was the character development. I thought Hillier was spot on with her main character, Marin. After losing her 4yr-old child on a busy street during Christmas time, Marin is beside herself. She blames herself for paying more attention to her phone and less to her child. She only looks away for a minute and suddenly he was gone.
Mirin has hit rock bottom and is losing the fight after to find him. She is depressed and having a hard time just getting through the day. As a last-ditch effort, she hires a new private investigator. He discovers many things and one of them is that Marin’s husband has been having an affair and quite possibly could have been involved in the abduction of their little boy. This page turner will be a hit with book clubs!
