Monday Mash-Up

Are you ready for the holiday?  I am feeling a little overwhelmed.  I still need to finish up a few gifts today and then get busy wrapping.  We had another busy weekend, this one included having friends over on Saturday night for our annual holiday party and then another annual neighbors holiday party on Sunday.

!

But before the weekend even began, Dave and I snuck out to see a play with our biking friend Mike.  Mike is an actor and when not performing he likes to see other actors perfecting their craft. The play Lost in Yonkers was playing at the Monster  Box Theater in Pontiac.  We met at Applebees and enjoyed a very tall Sam Adams Christmas Ale beer with our tasty dinner.  The theater was next to the restaurant so we proceeded to run next door (close to zero temperature) to see the play. The play was so good- It’s about two brothers spending a year with their crazy extended family during WWII.  It was funny and heart warming- just what you need on a very cold Michigan evening.  It was also great to spend time with one of our dearest friends.

The party on Saturday was going to be so much fun. I did some research for “good games to play with couples at parties” and the Newlywed Game popped up.  On line there was a great printout of 9 questions for the women and 9 for the men.  Dave played Rob Screwbanks (Bob Eubanks) to a tee!  He put on a toupee, a sports coat, used a fake microphone and got right into character!  We also had the theme song to the Newlywed game playing in the background as we told the couples what was in store for them. They were such good sports and really tried to win at the game.

He is such a good sport!

The game lasted well over an hour and I can’t even tell you the amount of laughter heard.  I would highly suggest this game for a small crowd of dear friends.  These are the questions we asked during the game, although there are so many more on the web you could use.

We had such fun just hanging around the island and enjoying great nibbles as we talked and laughed and planned our next big bike trip…maybe Ireland next summer!
Hope you had a wonderful weekend also.
