Monday Mash-Up

Another busy weekend!  Before the weekend even began I was treated to a special morning with KJ!  Lauren had to work in the morning and needed help so I stepped up with the biggest grin imaginable!

Breakfast with Grandma!!

On Friday night Dave and I visited the local “B” Spot restaurant for one of our favorite stouts, Founders Imperial Stout and we split a  Short’s Bellaire Brown. The “B” Spot has the best happy hour prices around– 3-6 pm and all beers are only $3.00.   Their food isn’t the healthiest so we always end up walking across the shopping center to the Whole Foods Market to get a hot meal or soup.
.

On Saturday we had so much fun at the Home Show in Novi.  We’re getting serious about remodeling the bathrooms and painting or staining the kitchen cupboards.  We found so many good ideas!

Possibly having this floor installed in the backyard patio

Possible kitchen and bath cupboards stain
We like the gray stain as well

Dave especially likes this mocha gray cabinet color for the kitchen and bath

Love this counter top color for the bathrooms

And on the way to the exit we spotted this little number.  Dave has been asking for a hot tub for a long while.  We placed an order!

We worked up a thirst and appetite walking around the the home show for so long and since we were only minutes away from the Ascension Brewing Company– we just had to stop in 🙂

As usual, this place is amazing.  They make a delicious Brown beer named 15 Mile Porter– a Coconut, Maple and Almond Porter.  It’s so good we each had one and even brought some home! They can their own beer right there at the bar:)  The menu consists of farm to table food from local markets and farmers. We split a Cuban sandwich and chips and freshly made guacamole.  Fully satisfied with our day together, we headed home to watch the news to hear what President Trump was up to all day.

On Sunday we looked at a few more model homes.

Home building seems to have bounced back here in Michigan, so there are many model homes to tour and get great ideas from.  We had a brain storm session over coffee on Sunday and I think we have a good direction on what home improvements we are going to focus on this year.
1. Paint or stain kitchen cupboards
2. Paint or stain guest bath and master bath cupboards and add hardware
3. Replace Formica with granite in master bath, replace sinks and faucets
4. Paint both baths
5. Wallpaper guest bath
6. Add wainscoting to walls near rear entrance of home and up the stairs
7. Add glass door that leads to basement
8. Dress up concrete slab on back patio and add hot tub
9. Remove carpet in Great room and Study and add wood flooring
That’s it for this year.  Stay tuned as I document our progress.  By the way, I wasn’t feeling well on Saturday (probably the beer on Friday) at the Home show so Dave carried my purse around his shoulder the entire day…just thought you might like to know how amazing he is 🙂
