Hi friends, just popping in to share a wonderful place we went to last night for dinner. It’s called J Baldwin’s, a local restaurant near Detroit. I loved the decor and the food was good. We sat at the bar and enjoyed some happy hour prices. I ordered the fish tacos and Dave ordered the beef sliders and we shared an order of brussel sprouts. We each had a wonderful craft beer, Mountain Town Train Wreck Ale, 8.2 ABV. The happy hour prices and food menu were definitely worth the money. My fish tacos were only $5.00- a bargain. Anyway, I took some pictures of the decor- Enjoy!

We had a nice time there and will probably go back for the happy hour. After our dinner we headed to a local library for a discussion on craft beer. The author of the book Brewed in Michigan, William Rapai, was there to present his findings of an 18 month tour of Michigan and the craft beer industry. We had lots of samples of different types of beer with discussions on each. If you follow our blog you know we are all about craft beer and so it was nice to hear that Michigan is number 11 in the industry.
We are fortunate to have over 3oo craft breweries in Michigan. I don’t think we could narrow our favorite to just one, but Dragonmead’s Final Absolution Trippel is on our top ten list and the audience was happy to enjoy a sample of it last night.
Libraries work very hard to draw in the community. They offer wonderful programming for the entire family, from free computer classes to discussions on Ancestry.com. I am so proud to call myself a Librarian, and I feel privileged to work with the public. Where else can a person go to get a book, movie, CD, enjoy a story time with their children, and go to lectures on topics like craft beer?? Libraries are a good thing and I hope they never go away.
Have a wonderful weekend!
