Another busy weekend in the books! We traveled to Holland for the annual “Shop till you Drop” holiday shopping event! Our friends Ann and Dave joined us and we had such fun! For some reason some of my photos aren’t transferring from phone to computer, so I will have to show you some of last year’s photos.
Friday night the stores were open till 10 pm. and if you shopped from 9-10 all merchandise in most stores was 30% off. You can’t beat some of the deals! I found some cute pieces of jewelry for the girls and a few additional pieces for me. 🙂 The streets were all decked out with holiday fair and Christmas lights were lit everywhere. I absolutely rank Holland as one of my top cities to visit in Michigan.
We shopped the entire evening and ended up at New Holland Brewing for a Dragon’s Milk as a night cap!
On Saturday we ended up in Saugatuck for some more shopping. We shopped at many stores and purchased some big ticket items. One of the stores, Urban Found, has everything a girl would want- cute sweaters, pants, booties and lots of lovely jewelry. Lunch was at Phil’s Bar and Grille. Wonderful menu and great craft beer selections.
We headed to Grand Rapids after a nap and sauna at the hotel. Don Friesen was performing at Dr. Grins Comedy Club at the Bob. Our tickets were for the early show. We got there in plenty of time for lots of belly laughs! He was hilarious! I would pay to see him again. He mentioned he has a comedy show on Showtime coming soon!
After the show we ended up back in Holland for dinner and a show at the Irish pub called The Curragh. We were so lucky to get a round table in front of the fireplace. We sat and listened to wonderful Irish music while eating dinner and drinking Guinness beer. It was by far one of the best nights I have had in a long while. Nothing beats friends, good food and great music while relaxing in front of a blazing fire.
Dave ran on Sunday and I unpacked. I didn’t feel like running in the rain. However, I did run this morning and it was an easy 3 miles. Getting ready for the Turkey Trot next week. 🙂
Busy with work and Thanksgiving prep for the rest of this week. I will post our menu and pics ( if my phone cooperates) in a few days.
Till then,
Karen
