This title was chosen by our January book club, to be read and discussed in early March. What a joy to have discovered this book and to now reflect upon it. The story is engaging and Cussy Mary Carter, the Pack Horse Librarian, is full of kindness and takes pride in her sharing of book titles with her patrons.
Cussy travels far and on treacherous trails with her mule, Junia to deliver her books. She is proud of her work as librarian of the Kentucky Pack Horse Library and prepares each delivery to each person thoughtfully. She knows what her patrons want to read and she takes pride in finding them.
This book is full of hope and demonstrates the good-will in people and would make a wonderful selection for a book club.
