This fictional story is woven together masterfully just like the art it represents. The Lady and the Unicorn consists of six tapestries hanging today in the Museum of the Middle Ages in Paris.  Chevalier presents a beautiful tale of the artist who sketched the drawings and the weaver who painstakingly wove the tapestries.  Chevalier has done her homework and provides great detail as to how a tapestry is created, from concept through taking it off the loom.

I really enjoyed the tension between the characters, the workers conduct in the workshops, the descriptions of the towns and city life, and the tension created with the time schedule to finally finish the tapestries.

So good, and a book your club with devour!
