November monthly media 2020

Traveled this month so reading was touch and go.  I usually look forward to vacations because it’s a time to sit and read.  But this vacation was a biking vacation and we welcomed the exercise and the warmer weather.  We traveled to Jekyll Island and soaked up the sun and sand.  We biked and ran every day and when we finally did sit down I was exhausted and didn’t feel much like reading.

I was able to finish two books before we left for vacation and I really enjoyed both.  This is How I Lied by Heather Gudenkauf was very suspenseful and so was Little Secrets by Jennifer Hillier.

While driving to Jekyll Island we listened to Fareed Zakaria’s new book about the Pandemic and what he suspects the world should learn by this experience.  He feels strongly that America and much of the world did not act quick enough to stop the spread and that the lack of testing was a major drawback and because of this too many people died.  Listening to the book certainly helped kill time and it did provide for some interesting discussion along the way.

I really enjoyed reading this book and learning about Phil and Marlo’s love affair.  Together, they interviewed over 40 couples and surprisingly the couples were forth-right and explained the ups and downs of marriage and what it takes to make a successful one.  I really enjoyed the interview with Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan.

What I have been listening to…

Dr. Laura is my daily dose of reality and I love her advice.
