And another month dealing with Covid and not seeing loved ones. When will this be over? The good news is that by the time you read this both Dave and I will have had our second vaccine shots!! We got lucky, being I am considered a municipal worker and Dave is an essential worker. That means, we can start to go out to restaurants and feel comfortable, and more importantly we can see the kids! Lauren and Olivia already have shopping dates set up and I can’t wait! Maybe I can even host a piano concert with family and friends! LOL, I need so much practice. Dave even questioned if I should post this video, HA, I agree it is embarrassing, but I am teaching myself and I need to document where I started in this journey.
Speaking of journeys, Olivia and Zach are expecting a baby girl in September; great news for our family! It will be a busy fall with the new baby and Dave and I celebrating our love with a commitment ceremony in October. We are excited to publicly share our vows with a small group of friends and family. 🙂
Bridal shopping has been in full swing over here, nothing to share yet, but soon, I hope. I have been scouring the web for ideas and wedding dress options. So much fun!
We visited St. Clair, Michigan again last weekend. We were hoping to see the ice jams along the St. Clair River, but they had already melted. We ended up taking a long walk on the board walk and took some pictures of the ducks in the water. The fresh air and the long walk were a welcome change.
Streaming shows like Botch and Blacklist have been our evening entertainment. Playing games like Sequence has been a weekly event also. Running outside when we can; treadmill when we can’t. Using the exercise bike while we watch TV has helped stave off the pounds.
We are getting tired of snow; I took this picture the other morning after a big snow storm. We got 10 inches of snow the previous night!
Olivia sent me a care package of Valentines candy, so sweet of her. I ate them so quickly; they were all gone within the hour. 🙂 Tootsie Rolls are my weakness.
We spent Valentines at home with a steak dinner and beer from one of our favorite breweries. Blue Sky sells howlers and we picked up a Belgium Triple to accompany our dinner. It was a delicious meal.
As far as exercise this month, we have been very dedicated. Every day we are running or biking outside or in the basement on the exercise bike or treadmill. We both logged 40 miles of running this month and biked another 20 miles each. And, when the lockdown hit, we ordered this weight bench from Kohl’s. It has been a life saver with the gyms closed. It was delivered right to our front door, neatly packed and Dave put it together with no problems.
We are just getting by friends, how are you handling these long dark days of winter? Good news, it’s almost spring!
