Recap of March 2021

March is reading month in the library and in all elementary classrooms.  KJ’s teacher asked for volunteers and since we haven’t seen the kids in so long, we thought it would be a great idea to video tape our book reading.  Dave came up with the crazy antics:) We had so much fun filming this and plan on do more for the kids soon.  I image a library of books read for the grandkids to watch whenever they want.

Other news…We are fully vaccinated!!  What a relief, especially now that the numbers are climbing again in Michigan.  We were able to see our friends last weekend for an indoor gathering!  We actually ate dinner and had drinks without our masks on!!

We were feeling so confident we snuck inside one of our favorite breweries, Blue Sky, for a quick beer!  We enjoyed a delicious Belgium Triple 🙂 Felt so good to be in public again.  I still haven’t worn make-up.  It’s been almost a year…I miss make-up:(

We continue to eat pretty good.  All of our meals have been homemade- we have not ordered carryout in such a long time.  I miss Chinese carryout and pizza.  With Dave watching his cholesterol, we have been mindful of how much fat is in each food item we bring into the house.

These next two videos were taken when quarantine began, one year ago.  We used to meet outside with the neighbors at 6pm daily to catch up on the news and try to find humor amiss the chaos.

We are continuing to run indoors and out when weather permits.  We even got our bikes out and rode quite a few miles on local trails.  We continue to use our weight machine that Dave put together in early Covid.  I am trying to lose 10 lbs. for the wedding/commitment ceremony in the fall.

Nightly, we lock ourselves up in the basement and watch The Americans- the Russian spy world at its finest!  We are on season 3 and have four more seasons to go.  Hope we finish before the nicer weather is here.

I recently bought some succulents and a new fern for the entry way.  Anything to add life to our house during Covid.  Both plants bought at the grocery store 🙂

And we went furniture shopping and picked up this gray/brown leather swivel rocker!  Dave loves this chair 🙂

I have been busy learning how to use PicMonkey.  It’s a graphic arts program that allows you to be very creative.  These two pics are a vision board for Liv’s new house.  She has a screened-in back porch and needs ideas to furnish it.  She likes the neutral- gray/beige plan best.

Two new supplements we have added to our daily ritual…both have been helpful with providing energy and hair and nail growth.  You can find both on Amazon or your local health food store.

You are now caught up with DAK Living!

We try to keep very busy and continue to learn something every day.  Looking ahead to April, we have some work planned for the yard, hopefully some long bike rides, some planned activities with family and friends, and of course we will document all of it.

Till then,

Karen
