Recap of October 2021

After a few years of planning and agonizing, we finally got married!

On October 16, 2021 we said our vows in front of 55 people- our closest friends and family!  We wrote our vows and publicly stated our intentions- to always meet in the middle.  That mantra has been repeated numerous times already since we got married. 🙂  The day was so beautiful and the sun came out as I was walking down the aisle!  We will share more about that later, but for now let’s talk about what else we did in the month of October.

The weather in Michigan was stormy and cloudy most days, but we still got out and ran and biked often.  We ended up visiting a new model home for ideas on feature walls.  Remember, we are re-doing the study and Dave will be adding a feature wall to the room.

We liked the detail in this feature wall
This one also caught our eye. We would do all the walls if we chose this one.
Very pretty mirrored wall, but not for our home.
Wonderful ceiling idea. I loved the chandelier so much that I ordered it for our foyer. 🙂

Trying to lose a few extra pounds before the wedding, we ate at home most nights.  We did sneak out a week before the wedding with a few friends to go over details of the big day and we treated them to dinner and drinks out.  I did not get a picture to capture the event but someone got a picture of me 🙂

Can you feel the happiness!

After a few days of celebration, we did manage to get back to reality and go out to one of our favorite restaurants.  The Laundry in Fenton is the best sandwich spot in Michigan!

We never learn. We end up ordering like we think we are kings. There is no way we could eat the entire sandwich in one seating.
I brought this book home from work and made quite a few recipes. Very good book, you can read about the book and the recipes I made in the October Monthly Media under the Library related tab.

That’s all folks!  We biked 177 miles and ran 67 miles, not bad for all the rain we got.  Stay tuned, as soon as we get our pictures and video back from the photographer we will upload and discuss the details of the wedding. 🙂

Stay safe and healthy,

DAK
