October Monthly Media 2021

What a beautiful fall we have had in Michigan.  I got married this month!  Can you believe I didn’t even take a day off work?  We married on Saturday, October 16 at 11:00 am.  The sun was shining and the temps were warm- warm enough for a champagne toast in the gardens.  We were so happy to see 60 of our closest friends and family members.

Even though I was busy this month, I did manage to get in some reading time.  I started the month with Silver Tears written by Scandinavian writer Camilla Lackberg.  Lackberg does not disappoint in this psychological thriller.  I changed things up a little and read a simple book about friendship.  All the Little Hopes was very good and I have already recommended it to many young adult readers and adult readers alike.

As far as Non-fiction goes, I continue to read Sanjay Gupta, Keep Sharp and I am glad to report I am on Chapter 4.  I actually started to takes notes as I read- so much information to remember!  I also was drawn to the cover of this book- Out of Many, One by George W. Bush.  A wonderful pictorial of immigrants and President Bush is the artist.

Dave saw this book on the coffee table and had to get The Who album cover out to compare it. Very similar!

Movies, DVD’s, Streaming…

Watched all three seasons! Amazing, if you like psychological thrillers:)
Love anything Mark Wahlberg is in. Very entertaining action film.

Listening to…

Are you familiar with John Adams Music?  He is a composer and he performs covers from various artists.  You can listen to his music free on Freegal, a streaming service provided by your public library.  Freegal is for music downloads and streaming,  with over 9 million songs and 15,000 music videos available.  Patrons get 5 downloads per week and 5 hours of streaming per day. You can access it on most devices and once you download content it is yours to keep. 🙂  You must try it!  I originally found him on YouTube but had to listen to commercials, with Freegal there are no commercials. 🙂

All materials are available in your public library!
