Monday Morning Catch- up!

Happy Monday Friends!  How was your weekend?   We were busy as usual.  Here is what we ended up doing.

On Friday Lauren and the boys came over to visit and go to a local splash pad.  But first, we had to get the boys a haircut.  Lauren found this cute shop that specializing in cutting children’s hair and since this was Ryan’s first official hair cut we wanted to make sure he enjoyed it.  The girl was so patient with him and with KJ.

Before haircut…

After haircut…so cute! KJ is full of energy!

Ryan was so good. He sat patiently while she cut his hair.

She even spiked his hair with gel just like his big brother.

The rest of the day was spent at the splash pad.  I didn’t take any pictures, as I was playing too much or holding Ryan for Lauren.

On Saturday we spent hours in the movie theater.  In Michigan, along with the rest of the country we had extreme heat and it was very uncomfortable.  So we went to the movies! We saw the movie Yesterday. My official rating for this movie is 10 out of 10.  I loved it that much.  It hit all the right buttons- romance, humor, good music, fun characters, good plot line and engaging.  Dave also enjoyed it and also gave it high marks.
Yesterday, we spent the entire day cleaning up inside and out.  We tackled the yard first before the temps started to rise then moved inside and tackled the entire first floor.  We were worker bees and it felt good.
My next project around the house is re-imagining this spare bedroom  I need it to be a bedroom for the kids when they visit but it also needs to be my office.  I have moved some items out and started to bring in some new pieces.  The rug is new and window drapery is on its way.  I’ll fill you in later on details and present it to you properly..

We did manage to run Saturday and Sunday- 7 miles total.  And we rode our bikes to dinner on Friday night, only 7 miles on the bike but we still burned a few calories.  🙂
When we woke today the temp had finally broken and it feels so wonderful.
I’ll check back in on Wednesday with our blog post on Montreal.
Enjoy!

MONDAY MORNING CATCH-UP

Another busy weekend in the books!  We had loads of laundry to complete due to our last trip and a weekend was what we needed to get organized.  But before that, on Friday I was able to spend the day with my two favorite guys!   Lauren needed the help and I was over the moon happy to oblige.  KJ was so delighted to share his homemade pizza rounds with me.  I shared my yogurt with him and we both laughed at his pizza pie face!

And this little guy loves his bouncing thingy so much!  His fine hair was all over the place as he smiled and jumped after his afternoon nap.  He is getting so big and already has a fun personality 🙂

Saturday found us at Costco as we shopped for much needed supplies.  We even found a computer desk that Dave is considering for his office.  The price is amazing and the quality very good.  It’s small enough for the room and yet has a large writing surface- we’ll see if he orders it.

We also ordered some hanging hooks from Amazon for the newly finished laundry room.  We ordered them on Saturday afternoon and they arrived today before 11:00 am- Got to love Amazon Prime for that reason alone. 🙂  These hooks will hold our wet running clothes after a run.  We have always had a hook over the door to hold wet clothes but since the new glass door arrives next week we needed to come up with another solution.  I’ll snap a photo went the room is fully complete.

On Sunday we spent some time with friends trying to nail down a trip to Germany that is coming up.  We had so much fun planning and looking through guide books.  I can’t wait to vacation together- We will be spending two full weeks with them and I know so many wonderful memories will be created!
Besides putting all Christmas items away last week and getting back on our schedule after our Miami vacation, that is all we did.  We needed a quiet weekend to get caught up.  How was your weekend?  Anything special going on in your neck of the woods?

Exercise stats for last week-

Ran 20 miles
Biked 17 miles in a class with a really aggressive trainer 🙂

I am working on our post from Miami and Key Largo, look for that on Wednesday.

Make it a great week friends!
