Roya Kayhani and Bahman Aslan meet in 1953 in a stationery shop in Tehran, both are 17. Both are drawn to the poetry of Rumi and the shop owner sells these texts.  The couple fall in love and begin a romance.

Iran is facing a coups d’etat and Roya and Bahman are separated. Now, 60 years later and a lifetime of events, Roya meets Bahman in a nursing home to rediscovery a friendship and find closure.

A romantic tale of undying love.  Very good choice for a book club.
