Life during a Pandemic allows for lots of reading time! On the fiction list this month- A Good Marriage by Kimberly McCreight and Eight Perfect Murders by Peter Swanson.
Just look at that cover- can you guess why I chose this book off the NEW shelf? I love Tim McGraw. I love the way he sings and I love that he’s a real dad and husband. I was curious to read his thoughts on health and motivation. He believes in training your mind along with your muscles. He eats well, doesn’t drink alcohol, is highly motivated and very inspirational. I really enjoyed this book and if you are looking for some motivation and tips to achieving a goal, then this book is for you.
I don’t experience food allergies or an autoimmune disorder, but I do like Michael Symon from the Food Network. In fact, we used to visit the B Spot restaurant, which he owns, in Rochester, MI quite often. You can get a wonderful burger and beer at a great happy hour price! In his new cookbook he discusses his diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis and external lupus. He knew he needed to change the way he ate in order to keep systems at bay, so he decided to experiment in the kitchen and came up with 125 very good recipes that exclude red meat, white flour, sugar, and dairy. Easy to follow recipes with beautiful pictures.
