We stayed at the Westin by Marriott and felt very safe due to the Covid-19 procedures they had in place. The hotel was even decked out early for the holidays!

We decided to go last minute- just to get out of the cold weather. With Covid, we knew we weren’t going to see family members for the holiday so we decided to take a chance and visit somewhere we have never traveled to. We are so glad we did! We spent seven full days in glorious sunshine- biking, running, swimming in the Atlantic and hanging out at the amazing hotel.

Jekyll Island has over 20 miles of picturesque biking paths and trails. We spent hours getting to know the island on our bikes. We also ran on the beach and swam in the ocean or the pool daily. We even travelled to St. Augustine, St. Simons Island, and Amelia Island for easy day trips.

There are bike trails all over the island , you can bike all day and never get bored of the scenery.

We drove our car and took our own bikes. We took our electric cooler and stocked it with food and drink for the ride and the overnight stay in Asheville before making our way to Jekyll Island.

This is the electric cooler we purchased for our road trips. It’s been perfect for us- it stores a lot of food and drink and it gets as cold as we need. It has a freezer area as well.

Have you visited paradise before? We are planning on going back, maybe yearly. That’s how much we loved it.

This weekend we are planning on making our traditional Thanksgiving meal. We both missed the turkey and fixings and can’t wait to get in the kitchen on Saturday and start cooking while listening to Christmas music. 🙂
