Cyber Monday sales!

Hi friends!  Truth be told, it’s nice to get back to work today.  We enjoyed a wonderfully long weekend, but I really missed my routine for some reason.  I miss my time sitting at the Reference Desk.  I can usually get some personal searching done and that is what I have done today.  I emailed myself a list of bargains I found and then ordered them at lunch.  I have already ordered quite a few sale items today and now I can finally say I am done Christmas shopping for this year!!  Yup, all done.

That felt good to say!  I hope you are enjoying the savings as much as I am.  How was your Thanksgiving?  We had lots of fun running the Turkey Trot in Detroit and then hanging out at Campus Martius for a little while.  We got home in time for the Lions and I put the turkey breast in the oven for a 4:00 dinner.  Dave’s brother came over and hung with us all afternoon and enjoyed the Thanksgiving meal as well.

Is it really Thanksgiving week?

How did this happen?  I am so behind schedule this year.  I think the bath remodel and laundry room update has put me behind and now I can’t believe I have to hurry and get ideas from the kids and their spouses on what they want for Christmas.  Yikes!

Well, we still need to get through this week and we have lots of fun plans already scheduled!  On Wednesday the painter/ wallpaperer is coming back over to work on the laundry room.  I can’t wait to see the paper on the feature wall!!  This is the same hanger/painter that tackled our guest bath last month and he is such a nice guy and so easy to work with.  If you are local I can forward you his number.

Just in case  you didn’t see the wallpaper- here it is 🙂  It is busy and yet calming at the same time.  I love the muted colors and it really makes the bathroom appear larger.

As our family keeps growing, we are finding it harder and harder to spend the holiday together.  Olivia will be with Zach’s family on Thanksgiving and Lauren will be with Chris’s family, so that leaves us on our own.  We are planning  to run the Turkey Trot in the morning in downtown Detroit and then watching the Thanksgiving Parade for awhile.  We are also considering staying downtown and watching the Lions game at Ford Field.  We’ll see how cold it is and how we are feeling after the race.

If we do come home to cook we will probably have the same dinner as we have had in years past.  It’s good and why change something that’s delicious and easy for the two of us to create. Past Thanksgiving meal/day

Yesterday, we got together for our family (all siblings and their children) Famgiving.  It was such fun eating turkey and the fixings and planning for Christmas.  I feel bad because I only took a few pictures.

Dave holding Ryan- almost 4 months old now. 🙂  He has found his fingers.

Olivia holding Ryan while playing with her cousin Trevor.

Dave and Zack watching the Lions.  Mind you, around the corner were all of my brothers and their families, but I didn’t get them in any pictures:(

Lauren giving KJ a time out.  He is an independent soul who wants to run and laugh all the time.  Such a boy 🙂

Those are all the pictures I took.  I was having too much fun and kept forgetting to take pictures.  I really need to get better at capturing the moment with pictures and video.

Over the weekend I did have some girl time with a friend I have known for years.  We spent the day in Birmingham shopping and ended up having lunch out and talking about everything under the sun.  Dave and I went to a wedding on Saturday night and I cannot believe I didn’t get one picture of us.  Not one!  I had my hair curled and makeup on and both us were all dressed up, and yet- I did not get one picture.  I am so bad at this.  I need to make an early NY resolution- take more pictures!

Anyway, how was your weekend?  Did you start decorating your house and are you cooking for family on Thursday?  Dave is insisting that no Christmas decorations be brought up from the basement until after Thursday- we will see about that, I am itching to get started.

We ran 12 miles this week and I have been loving my Orange Theory classes.  I took 3 classes last week and will probably take another 3 this week.  I love them and really enjoy the results of the after burn.

Enjoy your week!  I’ll check back in next week with an update and hopefully lots of pictures 🙂
