We are in the thick of our reading program at the library! The students love it and this year our numbers are way up. Do your children participate in the Library Summer Reading Program? If not, they are missing out. Our grand prize this year is an Amazon gift card valuing $100.00. Not that kids or adults should read just for the prize, but it helps with motivation …just saying, if you’re going to read- you might as well log it and try to win $100!! We (staff) are not able to enter the library’s summer reading program, we just read because we are truly motivated to read.
This month I read Take it Backby Kia Abdullah and The Pushby Ashley Audrain. I also really enjoyed the cookbook 7 Ways by Jamie Oliver.
Great table of contents and full of tasty recipes
I made the Harissa Cauliflower Traybake one evening and it was delicious. It looked nothing like his, but it was tasty!
Movies I brought home from the library this month…
Very funny and anything with Andy Samberg is worth your time.:)
Thought provoking and a great conversation starter. Frances McDormand is such a good actress. I can see why the movie received so many award nominations.
This film is based on a true story of a detainee who was never charged with a crime while being held at Guantanamo for 14 years. The story of Mohamedou Ould Slahi is told in his NY Times best seller "Guantanamo Diary" published in 2015. The movie was very good and Jodie Foster gave a believable performance as the main lawyer for the case. Definitely worth your time to watch.
All books and movies are available at your public library!
