DAK Living- Dave and Karen exploring the world!
A Librarian puts down her book…
ver the weekend we visited Midland to see the Festival of Trees. The event lasted all weekend and was packed with people when we showed up on Saturday around 5:00 pm. The cost was $5.00 to enter and then you could purchase raffle tickets to put in boxes near the Christmas trees or wreaths you hoped to win at the end of the weekend.

Recently, I was invited to a wonderful Inn in Metamora, Michigan. The Inn is called the White Horse Inn and it recently underwent many updates. The Inn is now a hotspot in Metamora and I can see why. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was welcoming- the equestrian decor was warm and it gave an old charm to the property. I can’t wait to go back!

I have an entire shelf in the upstairs hall closet full of cookbooks, photocopies of recipes found in magazines, cookbooks from school book sales and some of my mother’s cookbooks.

Being a librarian you would think I would have a handle on organization…a winter project for sure! Over the years I have given some cookbooks to my girls and to the library book sale. I used to have two-full shelves filled with memories and recipes. I have now reduced this clutter to one shelf in my office. I’ll post my office pics soon- still remodeling.
Continue reading “I Love Cookbooks!”Happy new week Friends! The sun is shining today and the temps are reaching the high 60’s!! I ran this morning and I reached my goal- 5 1/2 miles!! I was so happy to finally get over the 5-mile mark and still feel good. My plan is to run a 1/2 marathon next summer and I should definitely make my goal. 😊
This weekend found us staying home and relaxing. We rode bikes (14) miles Friday night and on Saturday we stayed in most of the day because of rain. I read and Dave worked on the computer. And of course, we caught-up on Shameless. We are on season three and we are addicted– binge watching whenever we get a chance!
